Lefty's Famous Cheesesteaks Hoagies & Grill, which has 15 units, added locations to five communities in the Michigan market this year and will add about 20 by year's end. Founder and President Sam Berry said the plan was to then double the brand's footprint to at least 75 locations by the end of 2021
"Our customers crave and love our value-priced menu, and routinely express their enthusiasm on social media, which we really appreciate," he said in a press release.
CEO Allie T. Mallad said by listening and responding quickly to the changing demands of customers during the pandemic, the company is posting sales growth of 50% or more in all stores.
"We have now expanded our locations' footprint by 50% in the first five months of 2020, which is well ahead of where we thought we would be, and a great indication of where we are going," Mallad said.
Berry said that as the consumer world moves forward, pick-up convenience, curbside service and drive-through will be the new norms of eating out, all of which are strengths of the Lefty's operational model. Berry added that the brand has significant franchisee interest in Florida, California and Texas.
"Lefty's will claim national chain status within the next six months as we break ground in new states where we know we will be enormously popular," Mallad said.
