Le Boulanger, a 60-year old bakery brand with 17 locations, has named Duke Marketing as its agency of record to help it launch a new fast casual brand, according to a company press release. Duke Marketing will provide strategy, manage the company’s marketing activities and assist in the development of a new fast casual restaurant brand, which will incorporate dinner with wood-fired specialty menu items, set to open in Palo Alto in late June.

Paul Brunello emigrated from Venice, Italy more than 60 years ago and opened his first bakery in Northern California. His children, brothers Roger and Dan, later used their father’s recipes for breads and pastries and opened the first Le Boulanger in downtown Los Altos in 1981. Today Le Boulanger serves 18 communities and is the official bread of the San Francisco 49er’s Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
