Las Vegas-based Teriyaki Madness goes 'all in'

October 16, 2012

Teriyaki Madness, a Las Vegas-based fast casual concept with seven units, has major expansion plans. Armed with a new partnership with Franchise Sherpas Inc., the chain plans to have 11 operational franchises by the end of 2013, 25 in the next three years and 100 units in the next five years, Rod Arreola, CEO and co-founder of Teriyaki Madness, said in a company press release.

"With Teriyaki Madness, we have a business model that is proven to be successful, within a market segment that has seen exponential growth, but most importantly, we're bringing a new attitude to Asian cuisine that is as bold as our flavors," Arreola said. "This new attitude, combined with the expertise of the guys at Franchise Sherpas, makes this a perfect time to scale our model to the next level."

The chain offers a low-cost franchise entry into the $18.4 billion market segment, with a low initial investment and a proven profitability of more than $200,000 per year, said Arreola. Each of Teriyaki Madness' seven locations have turned a profit, with a 12.1-percent average same-store sales growth among franchisees in 2011 compared 2010.

"Teriyaki Madness is at a point where it is ripe for growth, the concept has already shown the ability to be successful and profitable, which is the most important component, now with a focus on creating a unique customer experience within the market segment, the sky is the limit," said Michael Haith, founder and principal of Franchise Sherpas Inc., a Colorado-based franchise incubator and development company that has helped grow brands such as Doc Popcorn and Maui Wowi Hawaiian.
