Colorado-based burger concept Larkburger will open a new location in a suburb of Kansas City, Overland Park, Kansas. It's the first out-of-state unit for the chain but will mark its 13th nationwide, according to a company press release.
"The Kansas City area is a natural extension for the Larkburger brand," said Adam Baker, CEO. "We see a lot of similarities between Kansas City and Colorado as far as lifestyle and flavor preferences, and believe our focus on high-quality, natural ingredients and culinary techniques will resonate with the residents of Overland Park."
The company, which focuses on natural ingredients, packaging and operations, has opted to grow one company-owned unit at a time to ensure each location meets the highest standards for quality for which the brand is known, Baker said. The KC unit will seat 75 with the interior design mirroring the existing locations, with reclaimed timber throughout and a clean, open floor plan. Larkburger plans to hire up to 30 staff and will conduct a hiring fair this fall to fill those positions.
The company plans to continue expansion in the Kansas City region, according to the release.
