La Madeleine Country French Café is offering guests a free mini Liberté Tart today in celebration of Bastille Day, the French National Day, commemorating the start of the French Revolution and storming of the Bastille, according to a company press release.

The day has a strong significance for the French, as it symbolizes the birth of the Republic; it’s celebrated in a similar fashion to the Fourth of July.

The free mini Liberté Tart — adorned with fresh blueberries, whipped cream and raspberries — represents the blue, white and red of the French flag.
