There's another limited-service pizza brand in the mix now that the two men who run fast casual brand La Boulangerie — Pascal Rigo and Nicolas Bernadi — have launched aPizza in San Francisco at 2043 Fillmore St.
The duo is charging just $2.75 for a 9-inch personal pizza with organic ingredients, according to the San Francisco Gate.
"Basically, Pascal and I started working on a fast food pizza concept that would solve the problem of 'how can we force Americans to eat well and eat really good ingredients in a very affordable way?'" Bernadi said in the interview about the restaurant
Each 9-inch pizza comes with organic dough and organic tomato sauce, topped with various other organic ingredients, including Mary's Free-Range Chicken.
To keep costs down, aPizzas' dough comes frozen from a kitchen offsite and it's forgoing expensive to-go boxes. The pizzas, instead, will be folded in half and placed in paper bags that can be composted.
"We believe in aPizza for everyone — for every taste, every budget, every day," according to the company's mission statement on its website.
Another Apizza location will open in Belmont later this year.
