King County menu-labeling rule doesn't faze customers
January 6, 2009
The Seattle Times: Calorie-count posting requirements for chain restaurants in King County, Wash., went into affect Jan. 1, but customers seemed to take little notice.
At one Seattle restaurant, customers failed to notice the calorie postings on the menu board, while others chose not to let the nutritional information affect their food choice.
Also on Jan. 1, a rule banning plastic-foam containers, such as Styrofoam, took effect. As of Thursday, some takeout restaurants had switched to other types of containers while others had not.
