KC natives bringing Goodcents to Texas

Kansas City-based Goodcents is expanding into Texas by year's end with a 10-unit area representative agreement with Jax and Chad Johnson, two Kansas City natives, who live in Katy, Texas. The restaurants will open over the next five years in the Houston area, and Texas will be the 10th state where Goodcents restaurants operate.
"I moved away 13 years ago, and whenever I come back to Kansas City, I have to have Goodcents — a No. 9, turkey on wheat with tomato, salt, pepper and mayo, and mostaccioli dipping sauce," Jax Johnson said in a company press release. "I always loved the food and the smell of the bread baking. No one makes a sandwich like Goodcents."
Jax Johnson owns two pet businesses but said she was looking for something else when her husband, Chad, discovered Goodcents was expanding.
"I am so happy to be bringing 'home' to where I live. I need a little Kansas City where I am," Jax Johnson, who used to work for Goodcents while she was in high school, said in the release.
The chain has over 60 locations with dozens more in development.
