K2 Restaurants has debuted its second original restaurant concept, Supertoro, a Japanese-inspired fast casual, and aims to have its first location up and running by this summer.
Supertoro will offer Japanese menu items such as baked hand rolls as well as Bento options. The company, working with SuperTrio Restaurants, hopes to have three Supertoro locations open by year's end, according to a press release.
The first location will be on the Third Street Promenade, inside Santa Monica's Gallery Food Hall, alongside K2's original concept Azulé Taqueria.
"The concept of doing more with less has built the foundation for what Supertoro represents on all fronts," said John Kolaski, founder, CEO and curator of K2 Restaurants, in the release. "From the clean lines of the design, to the distinct menu, to the custom packaging — we've pinpointed all the things guests love about Japanese dining and fit it into a bento box."
