Johnny Rockets has opened three locations in Brazil and Chile, which join multiple stores operating in South America in Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru, along with existing restaurants in Brazil and Chile, according to a company press release.
Since FAT Brand's 2020 acquisition of Johnny Rockets, the global expansion of the 1950s-style restaurant franchise has been a top priority, said CEO Andy Wiederhorn.
"We're thrilled by Johnny Rockets' recent growth on an international level," he said in the release. "Johnny Rockets has become incredibly popular across South America, and we're proud to start off the year with the addition of three new locations in Brazil and Chile with an impressive development pipeline for 2022."
Johnny Rockets, which opened in 1986 on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, has over 325 locations.
Along with Johnny Rockets, FAT Brands owns Round Table Pizza, Fatburger, Marble Slab Creamery, Fazoli's, Twin Peaks, Great American Cookies, Hot Dog on a Stick, Buffalo's Cafe & Express, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Pretzelmaker, Elevation Burger, Native Grill & Wings, Yalla Mediterranean and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses.
