Nestlé USA, part of Nestlé, S.A., and Jamba Juice Company, are in the process of signing a renewed partnership for the development of a ready-to-drink line of energy beverages. The drinks will be available for retail sale in the northeastern United States in early 2011.
Jamba Juice and Nestlé USA plan to leverage their respective product development talents to create the line of Nestlé Jamba All-Natural Energy Drinks that will feature real fruit juice boosted with natural caffeine for an energy drink alternative.
The drinks will be available in three flavors: pomegranate blueberry, strawberry banana, and crisp apple. As with all Jamba Juice products, they will not contain preservatives, artificial flavors, grams of trans fat, or high fructose corn syrup, according to the company. Additionally, each 8.4 ounce can will contain 70 percent real fruit juice, 80mg of natural caffeine, and 90 calories per serving.
"The Jamba brand name stands for better-for-you, great taste, and high quality--attributes we share in common with Nestlé USA,” said James D. White chairman, president and CEO of Jamba Juice Company. “The development of these products is a reflection of the extraordinary partnership and commitment to excellence that exists between our two companies.”
Since announcing their intent to build a licensing growth platform, Jamba Juice has made significant progress in developing licensing alliances to manufacture, market and distribute Jamba-branded offerings through grocery, convenience, and other retail channels. Both companies also are exploring a number of other joint opportunities to extend the Jamba brand.
