Jamba Juice boosts California Flatbreads platform
May 10, 2010
Jamba Juice has relaunched its California Flatbread platform with the Four Cheesy, Smokehouse Chicken and MediterraneYUM flatbreads, now served more than 25 percent larger. The flatbreads retail for $3.75 and are being promoted for a limited time through the offering of $1 off each product.
"When we launched our California Flatbreads, we knew we had a great product, but quickly realized from customer feedback that we hadn't quite perfected it," Jamba Juice chief marketing officer Susan Shields said in a news release. "We take our customer feedback to heart and always try to give them what they want — in this case a larger size. In response, we enhanced the size by extending the flatbread an inch — while keeping similar pricing."
According to a 2009 consumer post on slice.com, the Jamba Juice flatbread's were compared to eating cafeteria food. In another review, the writer said the taste wasn't bad, but "its size makes it seem more like a snack than a meal."
With the exception of the Tomo Artichoko, the flatbreads are the same as the ones rolled out in 2009.
The MediterraneYUM, features a crisp crust topped with Mediterranean-style grilled zucchini, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and a combination of feta and mozzarella cheeses. If paired with a 16-ounce Peach Perfection All Fruit Smoothie, customers can have a meal at just 530 calories.
The Four Cheesy features a thick and crispy crust topped with tomato-basil sauce and a classic Italian four cheese blend that includes mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and romano. The Four Cheesy is 420 calories per serving.
At just 390 calories, the Smokehouse Chicken is topped with BBQ chicken, smokehouse roasted sweet corn, black beans, poblano chilies, red bell peppers and a combination of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
All of the flatbreads are available in 384 Jamba Juice stores nationwide.
