A new fast casual concept is bringing Jamaica into the heart of London's food scene. Opening in mid-March, Jamaica Patty Co. is the brainchild of Jamaican-born Theresa Roberts, who hopes to transform preconceptions about Caribbean cuisine with her contemporary but authentic approach, according to a company press release.
The menu will include freshly baked pastries, available with a variety of spicy fillings including jerk chicken, prawn, curried goat and saltfish and ackee. JPC will also serve a selection of complementary items throughout the day from a menu created by multi-award winning Jamaican Chef Collin Brown.
The restaurant also has breakfast options, including warm Jamaican porridge and Blue Mountain coffee. Desserts include Tortuga rum cake, banana bread and freshly squeezed coconut water or soursop juice — the soursop is native to the Caribbean and produces a uniquely tropical drink, renowned for its health benefits, according to the release.
