Islands Restaurants creates virtual concept

Carlsbad, California-based Islands Restaurants, which has served burgers and tropical drinks in a beach-themed atmosphere for over 40 years, has created Tortilla Beach by Islands, a delivery and take-out-based concept specializing in asada burritos, tacos and bowls with an island twist.

"Tortilla Beach was designed during the COVID shutdown when Islands realized burgers and fries simply don't travel very well," Lisa Erickson, senior eirector of Marketing, said in a company press release. "But burritos, bowls, and tacos do! So Tortilla Beach was designed to fit within the Islands' brand while showcasing our beloved Southern California style of Mexican cuisine."

Diners may also order cocktails, including the Chili Margarita, Deep Blue Sea (featuring actor Jason Momoa's Meili vodka) as well as a selection of toppings for the brand's gooey Tres Leches Cake.

Customers may find Tortilla Beach by Islands on UberEats, Doordash, islandsrestaurants.com as well as the menu in local Islands restaurant.

Founded in 1982, Islands operates 42 restaurants throughout California and Arizona
