Island Poke hires finance director

Island Poke, based in the United Kingdom, has hired Mark Comer as finance director to help open 100 units over the next five years, according to a company press release. Comer previously served in a similar role at Loungers, a UK-based cafe, bar and restaurant operator.

"It is an incredible brand responding to the millennial consumer and I am looking forward to using my experience and insight to grow their reach across the UK and beyond," Comer said in the release.

Following the opening of restaurants in London and France, Island Poke is adding four restaurants in Edinburgh over the next two years and has a partnership with dark-kitchen operators, Reef.

The brand, which has 18 units in London and nine in France, is part of White Rabbit Projects group, a hospitality development platform that partners with early-stage restaurants and entrepreneurs to support and accelerate growth. Others in its portfolio include Lina Stores and Kricket.
