Infographic: Restaurant workers express optimism about the industry

Nine out of 10 workers surveyed say the restaurant industry is a good place to land a first job.

Restaurant employment is expected to reach 15.7 million over the next 10 years, equating to 1.7 million new jobs, according to the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, and restaurant workers express positive feelings about working in the industry.

Some highlights from NRAEF research:

• 9 out of 10 employees say the restaurant industry is a good place to land a first job.
• 86 percent of employees ages 25-34 have advanced to higher-paying jobs.
• 7 out of 10 say restaurants provide good long-term opportunities.
