Ice cream sandwich concept headed to Cupertino, other California markets

October 16, 2014

CREAM, a San Francisco-based dessert franchise that specializes in ice cream sandwiches, has signed a multiunit development agreement with existing franchisee Moeen Abudamous to develop four additional locations throughout Santa Clara County, California.

According to a news release, Abudamous, who opened his first CREAM store in San Jose in February 2014, has already signed a lease for his second location, which will open early next year in Cupertino. Additional locations are planned for Milpitas, Los Gatos and Almaden Valley.

"With the success of my first location in San Jose, I felt it was the right time to expand and introduce the high quality product to the rest of the good people of Santa Clara County," said Abudamous. "I look forward to branding the CREAM name throughout the region."

CREAM recently announced its franchising program. There are currently eight locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, and company plans call for having 50 franchises operating by the end of 2015 and opening 100 new franchise units annually starting in 2016 and beyond.

CREAM is an acronym for "Cookies Rule Everything round Me." The concept offers a menu of 20 ice cream flavors and 20 cookie flavors and as many as 24 topping that customers can mix and match, as well as vegan and gluten-free options. It also serves milkshakes, floats, malts, scoops of ice cream and other baked goods, such as "The Cream Taco," a taco shell shaped waffle cone.
