HotSchedules, Toast partner to provide holistic view of labor management

August 30, 2017

HotSchedules, a provider of workforce and back-office solutions for the restaurant and hospitality industries, has integrated its scheduling and labor management solution with Toast, an all-in-one restaurant technology platform. The partnership between HotSchedules' software and Toast's point-of-sale solution offers restaurateurs real-time data, enabling greater operational efficiency, from staffing to balancing shifts, according to a press release. The platform enforces employee-specific schedules to prevent early clock-ins, and, helps users save on labor costs.

"Our mission is to empower restaurant managers and their teams to master their operations and prepare and perform in the face of the unpredictable," said Sean Fitzpatrick, COO and head of product development for HotSchedules, in the release. "Integrating Toast with HotSchedules takes all of the time, pain and guesswork out of scheduling the right people, in the right place, at the right time so you can deliver a great guest experience while dramatically reducing your labor costs."

HotSchedules and Toast customer, JT Riley, director of operations for Taste of Belgium, said the integration has allowed him to implement better forecasting and labor controls to reduce and control hourly labor.

"Before the integration, those decisions were largely made on instinct as opposed to reliable data," he said in the release.

Lisa Shad, regional manager at Datz Restaurant Group and another HotSchedules and Toast customer, agreed.

"Toast gives incredibly, detailed analytics right down to the very bottom line," she said in the release. "Not just that, it's incredibly user-friendly — and the fact that we were able to have it correspond with our HotSchedules system is a major plus. I don't think it gets much easier than this."

HotSchedules' now serves over 2 million users in 130,000 locations across 26 countries, serving the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries. HotSchedules and Toast each strive to help restaurant providers improve their operational efficiency and improve their bottom lines.
