Smashed is opening Friday in Hollywood, serving cocktails paired with smashed burgers and fries, according to a company press release. The fast casual concept helms from the owners of the Mexican-inspired cantina, Te'Kila, in Hollywood and Sherman Oaks.
"In opening a new restaurant and bar concept, we wanted to honor Los Angeles' beloved smashed burger and create a fun space that played off of our '90's upbringing, even bringing in artist friends to collaborate in the space," Co-Owner Kevin Zadoyan said in the release. "Smashed burgers and fries are my go-to comfort food — and paired with a cocktail or beer — you can't go wrong."
The menu
The menu features smashed Wagyu beef burgers, Beyond Meat burgers for a plant-based option and loaded fries. The bar program features a mix of classic, signature and slushy cocktails as well as wine and beer selections. Specialty cocktails include:
The look
Adding to the energy of Los Angeles' iconic Hollywood Boulevard, Smashed's interior features bright, neon graffiti wall art by local artists Dehmq and EyesBehindArt, according to the release. The inspiration stems from shared origins of the artists and Zadoyan, who decided the alleyway-burger bar deserved a '90s nostalgic graffiti rundown look to accomplish a free-spirited feeling. With a focus on creativity and collaboration, the space also incorporates socially engaging elements such as neon signage that create Instagramable moments, according to the release.
Smashed, which is at 6541 Hollywood Blvd., 102 in Los Angeles, is hosting a weekend-long grand opening party Friday, Saturday and Sunday with giveaways, drinks, live music and burgers.
