Heinz is taking its condiments on the road with the launch of the "Heinz Dipper," a French fry box featuring a built-in compartment specifically designed for dipping on the go.

The company said the patent-pending packaging will debut in 11 countries, including the United States, Canada and China, aiming to address a common frustration for fast food consumers: the difficulty of balancing ketchup packets and fries while driving or walking.

According to research commissioned by Heinz, 80% of condiment lovers have considered skipping sauces entirely when eating on the move due to a lack of dip-friendly packaging. Additionally, 70% of respondents reported spilling ketchup while trying to dip away from a table.

"As more eating occasions happen away from home in drive-thrus and on-the-go moments, the Heinz Dipper is a fun and relevant way to innovate to meet fans where they are," Nina Patel, vice president of the global Heinz brand at the Kraft Heinz Company, said in a company press release.

The rollout serves as a pilot program for the company's "Away from Home" channel. The dippers will be available at participating restaurants and sports stadiums in select cities, including six locations in the U.S. and international markets such as Brazil, Germany, Thailand and Kuwait.

The design of the box mimics the brand's iconic "Keystone" logo, a shape the company previously used in global marketing campaigns to highlight the connection between fries and its ketchup.

Kraft Heinz, which reported approximately $26 billion in net sales in 2024, stated that this launch represents its most widespread global activation to date. The company indicated that the test could lead to expanded distribution and long-term growth in its food service sector.

The containers will be available for a limited time while supplies last.
