Gyroville, a Mediterranean fast casual brand, has signed Edward Torres as its newest franchisee. Torres, who has a strong background in finance, signed a lease for his first location in the Heights area of Houston, according to a press release.

"We are super excited that Edward has decided to join our brand as our first franchisee in the Lone Star state," Lambros Kokkinelis, founder, CEO of Gyroville said in the release. "He has already demonstrated his commitment to the brand and his clear understanding of what it will take to succeed in this business."

Gyroville is looking to expand the brand into new markets, especially targeting the Southeastern part of the country and Texas. The company expects to open another two to three locations by the end of 2021, along with adding five signed franchise agreements in the U.S. during the next 12 months.

"This newest location in Houston enables us to put our footprint in the Lone Star state so we can continue our nationwide expansion," Kokkinelis said.

Gyroville is based in Boca Raton, Florida, and was founded in 2010. It has been franchising since 2016 and has 10 units in the U.S.
