Gyro Republic opens 1st franchise

The first franchise of Gyro Republic, which serves New York City-style gyros, is open in Missouri City, Texas, at 23040 Fort Bend Parkway Toll Road. Marking the chain's fourth location in the Houston area, it's the first location for franchise owners Ahmer Ali and Ejas Hussein, according to a company press release.

Founder Rehan Ranpuri launched Gyro Republic in 2019, and will add four to six franchises over the next few years.

The Gyro Republic menu consists of romaine salads, rice bowls, pita sandwiches, gyros and loaded fries. Diners may choose from gyro, chicken, falafel, jalapeno chicken or a combination of any two, along with vegetable and cheese toppings, as well as sauces.
