Gringo's Tex-Mex and Jimmy Changas are streamlining checkout, increasing loyalty program participation and improving customer service by rolling out Ziosk's Drop & Pay technology across all 21 locations.

The handheld tablets act as digital check presenters, allowing guests to review bills, pay securely and complete satisfaction surveys at their tables.

The move marks an effort by the Texas-based restaurant brands to modernize their operations while maintaining their traditional service model. According to the companies, the tablets allow servers to focus on table-side hospitality rather than managing manual payment processing.

"We were looking for a platform that could offer our guests secure payments at the table while saving us money on unnecessary fees," Heather McKeon, chief operating officer of Gringo's Tex-Mex, said in a company press release. "Originally, we thought Ziosk was only a tabletop platform, but this handheld payment solution is tailored perfectly to significantly improve service efficiency."

Since the implementation, the restaurant groups report a 96% pay-at-the-table rate. Data released by the companies also shows a 23% increase in loyalty program participation and a 45% engagement rate for guest satisfaction surveys.

Raymond Howard, chief revenue officer of Ziosk, said the integration is intended to capture actionable data while reducing the friction associated with traditional dining payments.

"Gringo's and Jimmy Changas are hospitality-driven brands that understand the importance of meeting guests where they are," Howard said. "Ziosk Drop & Pay gives them a secure, modern way to streamline payments, drive loyalty engagement and capture actionable guest insights while preserving that people-first dining experience."

Gringo's Tex-Mex has operated in Texas since 1993, with sister concept Jimmy Changas offering a similar menu with a focus on value and quick-service appeal. Ziosk, based in Dallas, processes more than $17 billion in transactions annually.
