Tampa-based Green Market Cafe is on track for continued growth with the Greater Tampa Bay region as a first priority, according to owner Andrew Koumi.
Green Market, which has five locations in Tampa Bay, opened in 2010 in Oldsmar and is getting ready to add a second franchised location this month in Seminole, Florida.
"We are focused on opening other franchise locations soon in the Tampa Bay area, including Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Brandon and Sarasota," he said in a company press release.
The franchise initiative is through Green Market Café Franchise Development. In addition to Koumi, Nick Vojnovic, who is also president of Little Greek Fresh Grill/Little Greek Franchise Development, leads it.
"We also have our eyes set on additional locations in Central Florida," said Koumi, who got the inspiration for Green Market Café as a student at the University of Florida. He was frustrated on not finding fresh and healthier food and said his food philosophy is composed of three simple concepts: sustainability, balanced nutrition and always-fresh ingredients.
"Once we expand our footprint in Tampa Bay, we will focus on Central Florida," he said.
