Goodcents has named Moussa Sobaiti as its Kansas City area representative. He will open 10 restaurants in the area over the next few years, with four planned for 2021, including one this spring in the new Travel America Center in Edgerton and another in Lenexa, Kansas, where the sandwich chain was founded, a news release said.
Locations in Parkville, Missouri and Prescott, Kansas will open later in 2021.
"I love that I can order a turkey sandwich and they slice the deli meat and cheese right in front of me," Sobaiti said in the release. "Also, it's a strong national brand with a loyal local following."
Goodcents' area representatives invest $100,000 in a defined geographic area to be developed with 10 stores and must own and operate at least one location. They receive half of the $30,000 franchise fee for each restaurant in their area and also receive one-third of the franchise royalty or 2% of total sales from each location.
Sobaiti, who owns several convenience stores and a travel center, was previously a director of engineering for a Silicon Valley firm.
Goodcents has nearly 90 locations.
