Dallas-based Cowboy Chicken is opening its third California unit this summer at 5050 N. Palm Ave., in Fresno. Texacal Foods and operations partners Kevin Roche and Phil Fontes have joined with Cal Capitol Investment Group's Daniel and Doug Shaffer to bring up to 30 units to the Golden State, including the two already operating in the state.
"We'e very eager to introduce Cowboy Chicken's community spirit and legendary wood-fired flavor to more areas of California," Cowboy Chicken president and CEO Sean Kennedy said in a company press release. "The restaurant offers a unique dining experience that is ideal for Fresno's Fig Garden Village."
