German Doner Kebab taps Nigel Belton as managing director

Nigel Belton has been named managing director for North America at German Doner Kebab.

Belton had been serving in a consulting role for the past two years at GDK and comes on board full-time as the brand gears up for major growth across North America.

His experience includes executive roles at Yum Brands, and he is the former CEO for KFC Pakistan, according to a press release.

The brand has signed numerous franchise agreements for Canada, and negotiations on future agreements are in process for New York’s Manhattan area and New Jersey. GDK plans to launch five stores this year, according to the release.

"North America offers a huge opportunity for GDK and we are confident that the franchising experience and business acumen that Nigel offers will pave the way for success and a solid foundation for years to come," said Global CEO Imran Sayeed in the release.
