German Doner Kebab opening in popular London entertainment venue

Scotland-based German Doner Kebab is opening a flagship location next month inside London's O2, an entertainment venue on the Greenwich Peninsula, according to a company press release.

Marking the brand's 65th site in the UK, the store is part of Doner's plans to add nearly 50 locations this year in the UK, building on the 12 that debuted in 2020.

"The O2 has long been in our sights and to be launching our new flagship restaurant in such an iconic London location represents a landmark moment in the growth of GDK," Daniel Bunce, GDK managing director, UK and Europe, said in the release. "Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab in the UK and we are excited to be bringing a new fast-casual experience to The O2."

GDK opened its first restaurant in 1989 in Berlin and is now based in Glasgow.
