Garbanzo opens 30th location

Phoenix is home to Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill's 30th location. The new restaurant opened this week at 4575 E. Cactus Road in Suite 140 and is the second Garbanzo in Phoenix near Paradise Valley Mall.

"We saw considerable growth potential in the metro Phoenix marketplace from the start, but even we've been surprised by just how fast things have taken off around here," said Franchisee Steven Morris, president and CEO of GMG Arizona LLC. "We're thrilled that Arizonans can now discover why Garbanzo has seen such remarkable growth in such a short time. We're ecstatic that we've already become a fast-casual favorite for the increasingly health-conscious Phoenix community."

Franchising is one of Garbanzo's key growth strategies building upon the success of its 19 company-owned restaurants in Colorado, said Alon Mor, Garbanzo founder, president and CEO.

The newest Garbanzo joins existing company- and franchisee-owned locations throughout the country. Garbanzo corporate has 15 locations in Colorado, and four in Maryland.

"I feel there is a huge audience in Arizona for the authentic taste and healthy options Garbanzo has to offer," Mor said. "Our made-from-scratch products have wide appeal while our authentic Mediterranean recipes provide an unequaled approach to fast-casual dining. After just one taste, I know the Phoenix residents will be Garbanzo fans."

Current franchise locations include Phoenix, Arizona, Orange County, California, South Windsor, Connecticut, Boca Raton, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, Florham Park, New Jersey, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and San Antonio, Texas. With many new store openings on the horizon, Garbanzo is on track to double in size by the end of 2014, Mor said.
