Garbanzo opens 1st Florida unit

Colorado-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill is opening its first Florida location today in Boca Raton at 7036 W. Palmetto Park Road, according to a company press release.

The new restaurant is the Mediterranean concept's 26th location and the eighth franchise store to open to date. It is owned and operated by Garbanzo franchisee Garboca, which has the rights to develop up to 20 locations in the south Florida area and is considering real estate in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

"The Garboca group has a very experienced restaurant operations and management team with a keen sense of the south Florida market," said Bob Bafundo, Garbanzo vice president of company and franchise operations. "We see considerable growth potential in Boca Raton and surrounding areas given residents' existing familiarity with Mediterranean foods and flavors. It will be enjoyable to watch our fresh, healthy and authentic concept integrate into the Florida community."
