Garbanzo Mediterranean signs Boston franchise deal

Garbanzo Mediterranean has signed a multi-unit franchise agreement for five Boston locations.

The agreement is with Derek St. George, a designated operating partner, and brother and sister Karl and Leigha Schmidt, according to a press release.

"I'm a millennial and proud of it, so I was searching for an emerging brand that attracts other millennials by using a forward-thinking approach, and Garbanzo does exactly that," St. George said in the release. He is a Boston native and a multi-unit manager with over 13 years of operational leadership experience.

Garbanzo Mediterranean is based in Colorado and has 29 locations. It recently opened stores on the campus of the University of Notre Dame and in Creve Coeur, Missouri, and plans to open at Denver International Airport this summer.
