To celebrate being in the taco business for 10 years, Fuzzy's Taco Shop is launching a month-long campaign in July to support Share Our Strength's Dine Out For No Kid Hungry campaign. When customers at more than 65 participating restaurants donate a $1 to feed hungry kids, Fuzzy's will provide a bounce-back voucher good for one free taco on the customer's next visit.
In addition, the chain will encourage its social media followers to create short, fun, Fuzzy's-themed Vine videos. For every video uploaded to the Vine app or to Twitter with the hashtag #fuzzys4nokidhungry, Fuzzy's will donate 10 meals to the No Kid Hungry campaign.
The overall goal of the 10th anniversary campaign is to raise $75,000 for the charity. This is the first year Fuzzy's has supported the campaign, which is organized by Share Our Strength, a national not-for-profit organization that works to ensure that no child in America grows up hungry.
"We decided months ago that we would use our anniversary celebration to give back to the communities that have embraced Fuzzy's so warmly over the last 10 years," said Chuck Bush, chief executive of Fuzzy's Taco Shop. "We strongly support the exceptional work being done by Share Our Strength because we believe it's a travesty that any child in America would not know where his or her next meal is coming from."
The restaurant is also rolling out a silver 10th Anniversary Souvenir Cup in July, paying homage to the iconic cups that have become synonymous with the brand. As with its regular souvenir cups, the limited-edition silver cups may be brought back to any Fuzzy's for a 99-cent refill; but the collector's edition will only be available in-store during the month of July.
Fuzzy's will also be selling special anniversary T-shirts, some of which feature the original logo that appeared at the first Berry Street restaurant near the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas.
