Fulfill healthy New Year's resolutions at BLIMPIE(R) Restaurants

The most common New Year's resolutions are to lose weight or eat healthier.  In 2006, BLIMPIE restaurants want to make those tasks easier.

BLIMPIE -- which serves fresh, contemporary, deli-style sandwiches -- is introducing whole grain wheat bread in its restaurants beginning in January. Developed by General Mills(R), the bread is baked fresh and will replace the traditional wheat bread served atBLIMPIE. Whole grain foods are part of the new U.S.D.A. dietary guidelines, which recommend consuming at least three servings of whole grain daily to maintain health and good nutrition. ABLIMPIE6-inch whole grain bread roll equals one full serving (16.8 grams) of whole grain, and a 12-inch whole grain bread roll equals two full servings (33.7 grams).
 
BLIMPIE is highlighting the new whole grain wheat bread as an option during its 'Hot Classics' promotion from Jan. 1 through April 30. Ideal meal selections for cold winter days, the 'Hot Classics' line-up features traditionalBLIMPIEhot sub favorites with a contemporary 'twist' -- Meatball Parmigiana, Peppercorn Steak and Grilled Chicken Marinara. All three sandwiches are formulated to contain zero grams of trans fat.
