Texas-based Fuego Tortilla Grill is crossing state lines to bring its "más es más" philosophy to Louisiana when it opens March 3 in Baton Rouge. The fast casual concept, known for scratch-made tortillas and a 24-hour operating model, is targeting college towns as it executes a broader Southern expansion.
Garrett Mills, CEO of parent company Uncommon Brands, said the move to Baton Rouge was a strategic fit for the company's identity.
"College towns are at the heart of who we are, and Baton Rouge has the energy, culture and late-night rhythm that have shaped Fuego from the beginning," Mills said in a company press release. "Opening in a new state is a big milestone for the brand."
Following the brand's standard operating model, the location will be open 24 hours a day, six days a week, closing only on Mondays.
Based in Dallas and backed by Crux Capital, Uncommon Brands operates Fuego locations in Texas hubs, including College Station, Waco and San Marcos.
