Luby's Inc. reported declines in same-store sales for its Fuddruckers' brand of 4.6 percent in Q4 2014, with a decline of 3.5 percent for the year.
"We have aggressively undertaken a number of operational and management initiatives to reverse this trend at Fuddruckers, and we are pleased to report that through the first eight weeks of fiscal 2014, Fuddruckers' same-store sales and guest traffic are positive," said Chris Pappas, president and CEO of Luby's Inc., in a company press release.
Luby's combo locations, which feature Fuddruckers and Luby's Cafeteria at one property location, fared better. Same-store sales at those locations were up 5.1 percent in Q4 and finished the year at 3.8 percent. The company opened four combo stores in FY 2014, finishing the year with a total of five.
"These locations in the aggregate are meeting our sales expectations. Combo locations represent a strategic growth driver for our brands and our operating results and they remain an exciting opportunity for our company," said Pappas.
Luby's plans to open its first combo unit outside Texas in Jackson, Mississippi in FY 2015.
