October 14, 2010

Continuing a suite of debuts across the U.S., fast casual chainFreshiicelebrated another grand opening in Houston's Energy Corridor District in early October.

"I am so excited to bring the Freshii philosophy to the growing Energy Corridor District, because it's a fresh and healthy alternative to traditional fast food," said Javier Bueno, Houston Freshii development partner. "With the thriving business market, opening of great shops, and blossoming residential population, I'm excited to call this diverse neighborhood Freshii’s first Houston home."

Freshii aims to change the operational face of fast food through a mission of green business practices and healthy, responsible eating. Units operate without dishwashers, hoods, ranges and ovens, and modest footprints of as little as 150 square feet. Their packaging (bowls, straws, cutlery, fountain cups, etc.) is made from eco-friendly, bidegradable vegetable starches such as corn or potatoes.
