Fresh To Order is celebrating National Bison Month with a "Bison Better-For-You Burger."

Fresh To Order is celebrating National Bison Month with a "Bison Better-For-You Burger."  Each is made with fresh-ground bison and served with baby field greens, blue cheese crumbles, whole-wheat flatbread and horseradish aioli, according to a company press release.

Bison is lower in fat, cholesterol and calories than beef, chicken or pork. It also provides more iron-rich protein per ounce, said Pierre Panos, CEO of Fresh To Order.

“Really, if you think about it, a bison burger is the quintessential All-American food; it’s the original American red meat,” he said. “When we introduced the Better-For-You Burger line in 2012 the goal was to provide our guests with tasty and healthy alternatives to beef burgers. Since then the line has grown to be one of our most popular choices.” 

Along with the bison burger, Fresh To Order’s Better-For-You Burger line includes two other hand-formed, grilled options. The Tuna Burger features a ginger-scallion studded tuna patty served with Asian slaw and horseradish aioli. The Black Bean Burger is made from a black black/rice mix and topped with avocado, house-pickled jalapenos, corn relish and horseradish aioli, and honey mustard sauce. Each is packed with protein, low calorie and delicious.

“Our bison burger is a killer burger,” said Jesse Gideon, Fresh To Order’s COO and corporate chef. “We have a really deep rich bison flavor from the perfect blend of different bison cuts."

Along with the Better-For-You line, Fresh To Order offers a host of other delicious made-to-order dishes, including entrees, panini sandwiches, soups and salads. All are made in less than 10 minutes for around $10 and many items less than $10.
