Fresh Baguette will open its ninth location on Jan. 28, marking the company's continued expansion across the Washington metropolitan area.
Located at 19548 Amaranth Drive, the store sits adjacent to the company's 36,000-square-foot headquarters and production center. The opening will feature a day of community events, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. and a fundraiser where $1 from every transaction will be donated to a local nonprofit.
As part of the grand opening festivities, every guest will receive a free baguette, and the first 20 people in line will be awarded free croissants for a year.
"This opening is about more than adding a café — it's about celebrating our people, our craft, and the communities we serve," Florent de Felcourt, founder and CEO of Fresh Baguette, said in a press release.
The Germantown opening serves as a prelude to National Croissant Day on Jan. 30, which the company will celebrate across all its locations in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Highlights for the holiday include in-store prize giveaways and the limited-time availability of a "giant croissant," a creation nearly 10 times the size of the bakery's standard version.
Founded in 2013 in Bethesda, Maryland, Fresh Baguette specializes in artisanal organic breads and pastries crafted using traditional French techniques. The company's croissants are produced through an 11-step process over 48 hours to create 12 layers of butter.
