FREEBIRDS marks first locale in San Francisco Bay

February 22, 2012

FREEBIRDS World Burrito has announced that it will open its first Bay Area location in Foster City, Calif., on Feb. 29. To celebrate, FREEBIRDS will give the first 25 guests in line free burritos for a year.

"You could say this opening is highly anticipated," said FREEBIRDS president Jim Mizes. "We're headquartered in the Bay Area, so it's nice to finally have a location here."

FREEBIRDS parent company Tavistock Restaurants operates 67 FREEBIRDS locations in Texas, California and Oklahoma. Later this year, FREEBIRDS will open several locations in Northern California, including San Jose, Elk Grove and Vacaville.

In the days leading up to the opening, FREEBIRDS and its charitable arm, World Works will conduct several pre-opening events that are open to the public.
