Freebirds closes Kansas City locations

September 25, 2017

Freebirds World Burrito has closed three units in the Kansas City area, according to an email to FastCasual from the chain's PR company, Bread & Butter Public Relations. All three stores were corporate-owned.

Earlier this month, the chain shuttered its Westport location in Kansas City, Missouri; last week, workers were packing up equipment at the unit in Mission, Kansas, according to the Kansas City Star

The landlord for a third location in Overland Park, Kansas, told the newspaper that it had closed last week. A location in Lee's Summit, Missouri, closed last year.

Texas-based Freebirds, which has approximately 90 locations, opened its first unit in the Kansas City area in 2012.
