August 23, 2018

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers experienced significant growth in the first half of 2018, opening 31 restaurants and achieving year-over-year systemwide sales growth of 14.5 percent, according to a press release.

An increase of franchise development helped expand the company's footprint into markets nationwide, with an additional 20 restaurants slated to open by the end of the year.

"We look forward to building on this momentum in the second half of 2018 and continuing to tap into the unlimited potential the future holds for Freddy's," COO Scott Redler, said in the release.

Freddy's also opened three corporate-owned locations in the first half of 2018, with an additional three slated to open by end of the year. Freddy's has developed in the non-traditional segment, with openings at Wichita State University and Oklahoma State University slated for this month.

Founded in 2002, the brand has more than 300 restaurants that serve 31 states.
