Freddy's franchisee opening Slim Chickens in Louisiana

Slim Chickens, based in Arkansas, has inked a deal to open seven locations in the parishes of Rapides, Lafayette, East Baton Rouge, St. Tammany and Ascension, Louisiana.

Spearheading the stores are the husband-and-wife team, Brandon and Rachel Thompson, who also own Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers and Walk-Ons locations in Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas markets.

"My wife and I are thrilled to grow our restaurant portfolio with Slim Chickens and expand the brand's footprint in Louisiana," Brandon Thompson said in a company press release. "After being acquainted with the restaurant ourselves as customers and transitioning to becoming franchisees, we fell in love with the Southern Hospitality, the quality of the chicken, and how the food is fresh and not prepared from freezer to fryer. Meeting with the corporate team it became clear that Slim Chickens complemented our portfolio well and we are confident the community here will enjoy more opportunities for great food and an even better dining experience as much as we do."

Slim Chickens has over 255 locations in the United States and the United Kingdom.
