Freakin' is ready to franchise

May 23, 2013

Flint, Mich.-based Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers is celebrating its first anniversary this week by announcing franchise opportunities to potential investors and its ranking on the Top 100 Fast Casual Movers & Shakers, said the company's president and founder, Brent Skaggs. The chain, which was ranked 12th on this year's FastCasual.com list, made the decision to franchise based on an increase in demand and national attention, with the hopes of a quick expansion across Michigan and beyond, Skaggs said.

"We are extremely humbled and honored to not only be named to this prestigious list, but to rank 12th in our first year in operation," he said. "This once again proves to us that we are on the right track and it allows us to bring more attention to Michigan as we prepare to expand our concept."

Plans are already in the works for a second location in Michigan. Details are expected to be released this summer.

In November 2012, Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers was named one of the "Top New Burger Joints of 2012" in North America by BurgerBusiness, a national business publication.

"We are thrilled about the excitement all of this attention is generating for our concept, and the response we are receiving from people who are interested in franchising," Skaggs added.

Freakin' Unbelievable Burger opened on May 21, 2012 in Flint Township.

The fast casual gourmet burger concept is the first location for the Michigan-based restaurant group Spartan Pastabilities, which also owns Harvey's Grill and Bar & Hayden's Grill and Bar
