Virtual restaurant operator marketplace, Franklin Junction, has hatched a virtual concept called, WingDepo, as a solution for what it said was for diners seeking classic American flavors mixed with international influences, according to a news release.
WingDepo, which will roll out in more than 55 Host Kitchens in Ohio and Kentucky this month, followed by a nationwide expansion by early 2021, is available exclusively for delivery via DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats and GrubHub.
The brand's menu focuses on one of America's favorite comfort foods — buffalo wings, which has also become a popular virtual brand menu item, as proven by the expansion of Smokey Bones' Wing Experience announced Tuesday. WingDepo will offer sweet and savory options like Memphis Sweet BBQ all the way to spicier versions like Mango Habanero or Honey Stingin' Garlic.
"WingDepo is a perfect fit for the Host Kitchen model," Aziz Hashim, founder of Franklin Junction, said in the release. "The concept benefits our partners by increasing profitability in restaurants without additional capital expense."
Hashim launched Franklin Junction in April 2020 as an opportunity for independent restaurateurs to monetize the excess capacity of their kitchens. Franklin Junction performs site analysis, concept matching, and implements strategies for sustained sales growth.
The company, which has 300 Host Kitchens in 35 states in its network,is based in Atlanta.
