Former Tomm+Chee president launches hot chicken concept

The northern Kentucky/Cincinnati location will be the first of many Nashville Hot locations.

February 8, 2016

Nashville Hot, a new fast casual concept serving Nashville-style hot chicken, is opening its first location this weekend in Cincinnati. It's celebrating its opening at the Buttermilk Shoppes (564 Buttermilk Pike) in Crescent Springs, at 10 a.m., Saturday, and diners will receive free cobbler with meals, according to a company press release.

"I am excited to bring authentic Nashville hot chicken to greater Cincinnati," said James Hutchison, GM  and chef for Nashville Hot and a veteran of the restaurant industry. "I've grown up eating hot chicken and I think people will be blown away by the unique flavor and juiciness. I've personally developed the proprietary blend of spices that we use in our hot chicken."

Customers may order Nashville Hot chicken at the spice level they prefer, along with southern-inspired sides and dessert items. Salads, fish, and grilled options are available, and customers can wash down their meals with local craft beers from Mad Tree Brewing, Braxton Brewing, and Country Boy. Kids menu items are also available, according to the release.

The northern Kentucky/Cincinnati location will be the first of many Nashville Hot locations, according to Nashville Hot LLC, the company that owns the brand and was founded by the former Tom+Chee President and early investor, David Krikorian. Former Cincinnati Bengal Brad Cousino is a partner in the restaurant group.

The brand is looking to open other Cincinnati locations as well as units in Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis; Cleveland and Pittsburgh, according to the release.
