After hiring a new CEO in January to help revitalize its Quiznos and Taco Del Mar brands, Rego Restaurant Group announced today that it has tapped former Subway executive Thomas Harper as VP of international development. The company, which is backed by High Bluff Capital Partners and oversees more than 800 stores throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, is hoping to expand its international footprint, according to a company press release.
Harper served as director of operations for the North American and Canadian markets for the Franchise World Headquarters, dba Subway. Previously, he was the owner and operator of a consulting firm, Tandem Ventures in Honolulu, where he provided consulting services in restaurant operations, marketing, logistics and the development of QSR brands. Earlier in his career, he served as managing director at Yum Restaurants International.
"Tom's breadth and depth of industry expertise combined with his experience working across a multi-brand platform is a critical asset as we look to grow both domestically and internationally," Mark Lohmann, Rego's chief brand, said in the release. "As we deepen our centers of excellence, our priority is to add talent accordingly."
