Former Potbelly chief development officer launches burger concept
September 8, 2009
Tom Jednorowicz, former chief development officer for Potbelly Sandwich Works, and real estate developer Doug Reichl, have created and opened Meat Heads Burgers and Fries.
At the time of Meat Heads creation, Reichl, a 22-year veteran of commercial real estate, was developing strip centers around college campuses for Starbucks, Noodles and Co, and Potbelly. Meanwhile, Jednorowicz had started a consulting business to assist high-profile clients in their development opportunities. Reichl approached Jednorowicz about a vacancy in one of the strip centers, and in 2007, they opened Meat Heads Burgers and Fries in Bloomington, Ill.
Charlie Braggs, a fine dining chef and alumni of Ambria, worked with Meat Heads to develop the menu that features hamburgers, sandwiches and fresh-cut fries.
There are three locations open throughout the Chicago region — in Bloomington, Naperville and Northbrook, Ill. — and the concept is on pace to open three to five more locations within the next 12 months.
