Former Popeyes, Krispy Kreme executive leading Jersey Mike's international growth

Jersey Mike's Subs has named Andrew "Andy" Skehan as president of international. The restaurant industry veteran will spearhead the company's global expansion, focusing on scaling its presence in key markets, including Canada and the United Kingdom.

"As we enter this next phase of growth, we're delighted to welcome Andy to Jersey Mike's," Charlie Morrison, CEO of Jersey Mike's, said in a company press release. "His proven record driving expansion for some of the world's best-known restaurant brands makes him the ideal leader to guide our next chapter."

Skehan most recently served as president and CEO of Home Franchise Concepts, a large North American home services franchising system. Before that, he was president of North America at Krispy Kreme and previously spent six years as president of international at Popeyes, where he was instrumental in expanding the brand's global footprint.

His career also includes leadership roles as chief operating officer of Wendy's/Arby's International and senior management positions at Churchill Downs Incorporated, Nabisco, and PepsiCo Restaurants International. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and holds an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. Skehan also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

The company has alreadybegun its international expansion, establishing a strategic partnership with Redberry Restaurants, one of Canada's largest restaurant operators, to open 300 locations in Canada by 2034.

Founded in 1956, Jersey Mike's has over 3,000 locations open in the U.S. and Canada.
