Cowboy Chicken has partnered Van Jakes, a retired member of the National Football League, and his company, Jakes Management 22 Company, to bring five stores to Atlanta, according to a company press release.
Jakes, already a multi-unit operator in the restaurant industry, said he is eager to bring Cowboy Chicken, with such a strong brand and rich history, to the Atlanta area. He believes the elevated, unique concept, paired with his team’s experience and knowledge of the market, will make this partnership a great success.
Sean Kennedy, president of Cowboy Chicken, is also excited about the partnership.
"As we position ourselves for expanded national growth, we work to recruit franchisees that best match the culture of our brand," he said. "Jakes, who was recently awarded the NAACP Benjamin L. Hooks Award for Outstanding Community Service, has created a team around the idea of 100 percent customer satisfaction and community involvement. We are excited to bring the art of cooking chicken over a real wood fire to the people of Atlanta, with a partner like Van."
