Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show kicks off

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Restaurant & Hospitality Show opened Sept. 5 at the Orange County Convention Center. The show, which runs until Sept. 7, features more than 650 exhibitors.   Highlights of the show include:
  • The 3rd annual Ultimate Barista Challenge hosted by Whole Cup Coffee Consulting. Professional baristi will face challengers on the exhibition floor as they prepare their signature espresso beverages for a panel of judges.
  • Culinary competitions, managed and organized by the American Culinary Federation/Central Florida Chapter.
  • The Orlando Pizza Show, a section of the show floor specifically geared toward pizzeria operators.
The show also features the Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum, which includes sessions on sustainability, accelerating revenue growth and making the transition from the corporate world to that of an entrepreneur.
 
New products being shown at the show include a handheld point-of–sale system from Digital Dining that allows customers to order and pay at the table, a a 72-layer cream cheese biscuit from Gagne Foods Inc. and Hells Handle Turners, a new line of high heat-resistant spatulas from Mercer Tool Corp.
